Kampala International University under the ALL4WASH project, is pleased to announce the short term MSc. Mobility Scholarship at partner universities for a period of three (3) months to carry out research/laboratory work.
Project Description
All4WASH is a project funded by the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART) with a consortium of partner Universities from Norway (University of Science and Technology), Ghana (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), South Africa (University of Venda), Tanzania (The Nelson Mandela African Institute of Technology), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa University), Mali (National School of Engineers Bamako) and Uganda (Kampala International University).
The overall aim of the project is to strengthen inclusive education and research in sustainable water supply and sanitation. The project also aims to increase the quality of research and advance knowledge in the areas of circular economy, digitalization, governance, equity & inclusion, resource recovery, health, and climate change.
About the Mobility
The 2024 ALL4WASH short term student mobility is for students conducting research with thematic areas covering WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene). The mobility will be from Uganda to either Ethiopia, Ghana or South Africa.
Number of scholarships: One (1)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a current KIU master’s student in either Water Resources Engineering or Environmental Engineering and their research in the thematic area (WASH).
- Must preferably be a female or from a vulnerable group.
- Must have presented a concept at the time of applying.
Definition of vulnerable: UN SDG 10: vulnerable due to inequalities in income as well as those based on age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status within a country.
The scholarship will cover
- Round-trip air tickets
- Living allowance for period of research
- Research allowance for data collection/ field experiments, laboratory analysis & development of prototypes
