KIU, Western Campus – The Association of Medical Students of KIU (AMSKIU) has released the final list of successful applicants for posts on the Executive Board.
The list, which was released on Monday, January 22, has 3 candidates contesting for President, one unopposed person standing for Vice-President, with eleven others competing for the remaining posts on the board.
Davis Ssebayiga, Faizo Muwanga and John Tendo are tussling it out for President while Adrine Nuwabiine is unopposed for vice-president.
The post of general secretary has Denis Niwamanya and Ruben Makuel Madol facing off while Lawrence Musasiizi Kiiza and Isaac Nyijukire are competing for Public Relations Officer.
Treasurer and Chief Editor are also unopposed as well as class ambassadors for second, third and fifth-year.
According to the chairman of the AMSKIU Electoral Commission Sharif Kalibbala Booza (in the picture), the election shall be 100% free and fair.
“People should expect the best at the polling station. We shall provide security, and everything shall move on time. We want everyone to cast their vote freely by the end of the day,” Booza told this website.
Booza also encouraged all AMSKIU members to participate actively in the electoral process because it is their right to vote for the leaders who will be making decisions for the association for the coming year.
Open-air campaigns start today and will be concluded tomorrow while voting and declaration of winners will happen on Thursday.
