KIU, Western Campus – The Chairman Board of Trustees for Kampala International University, Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba has donated food items of up to two metric tonnes to students at KIU Western campus.

The food, which is in the form of maize flour packaged in 5-kilogram sacks, has been distributed to students at the University today May 19, after the completion of the registration exercise meant to ensure that only students benefit.

Students came in huge numbers to receive the food, which was distributed by the Deputy Director of Human Resource for KIU Western Campus, Stella Auno and the Director for Academic Affairs, Sr Peter Paul Nakitende, on behalf of the CBOT and the University management.

The registration exercise was coordinated by the Dean of Students, Maureen Asiimwe in conjunction with student leaders led by Emmanuel Bucyana, the Member of Parliament for Faculty of Clinical Medicine and Dentistry.

Asiimwe thanked the CBOT for this kind gesture.

“We extend our sincere thanks to the Chairman for having a kind heart and lending a helping hand to our students. Our University cares about the welfare of all our students and we shall always have their best interests at hand,” Asiimwe said.

The exercise went on smoothly, following the Ministry of Health guidelines on social distancing and washing hands with sanitizer as well as putting on facial masks.
