Ugandacâ¬â?cs COVID-19 cumulative cases reached 1,603 after 43 new cases were confirmed from the 3,905 samples tested on August 17, according to the Ministry of Health.
As the number of cases in the country continues to rise, alert cases continue to constitute a big chunk of the countrycâ¬â?cs cumulative cases, with 32 alerts from communities being confirmed.
A half of those cases were from Kampala, 7 from Namisindwa, 5 from Arua and one each from Gulu, Kasese, Omoro and Buikwe districts.
Meanwhile, 5 contacts, 5 truck drivers and one returnee from Kenya complete yesterdaycâ¬â?cs case count. 3 contacts are from Kampala and 2 are from Wakiso district.
11 foreign truck drivers, all except one Congolese were from Kenya and they were not permitted to enter the country as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.
