KIU, Western Campus – President Yoweri Museveni has directed that students in candidate classes should wait for an additional 30 days before resuming studies.
In his address to the nation on June 1, the President said the government does not have the resources to test the huge numbers of students every two weeks.
He also pointed out that, day scholars, school workers and teachers are still high risk because they oscillate between home and the school premises.
There had been hope that President Museveni will open schools as he had earlier said that the Ministry would deliberate and come up with a plan of reopening schools by June 4 for the students in candidate classes to resume studies.
He, however, said that the government would pursue distance learning methodology like teaching on radio and television for learners during the lockdown.
