COVID-19 Updates: Uganda Records 4 New COVID-19 Cases

KIU Main Campus - Uganda’s total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,069 after the Ministry of Health reported four (4) new cases on Monday.

 

“Of the four (4) confirmed cases today, 2 are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan and Rwanda via Elegu and Mirama Hills points of entry respectively. Two are alerts from Amuru and Tororo Districts,” the Ministry confirmed in a statement.

 

The Ministry says that as of 19th July 2020, a total number of 2,196 samples have been tested and only four (4) turned out positive.

 

The Ministry added that nine (9) foreign truck drivers at the border points also tested positive for COVID-19 and were denied entry into the country.

 

Majority of the drivers (7) were Kenyans while the two were Tanzanians.


To date, Uganda has tested 247,646 samples of COVID-19 and has recorded no deaths.
