COVID-19 Updates: Uganda's COVID-19 cases rise to 126

KIU, Main Campus - Yesterday, 12th May, the Ministry of Health announced four more cases of Coronavirus in Uganda following more tests that had been carried out on truck drivers. 

"Today, 12 May 2020, 4 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,478 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 126 in Uganda. The new cases include: 2 Ugandans, 1 Kenyan who arrived via Elegu and 1 Tanzanian who arrived via Mutukula border," tweeted the Ministry of Health. 

The ministry went on to tweet that, "All 233 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19." 

Total samples tested yesterday at Uganda Virus Research Institute were 1711 bringing the overall total to 61,460 according to Coronavirus Updates 

Uganda now has 55 discharged cases and 71 active cases.
