Day 2: KIU Inter-College Debate Competition

KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU) Ministry of Education, on Tuesday, 10th March, hosted the Inter-College/School Debate Competitions at KIU grounds. 

Under the theme "African Youth", the event kicked off at 9 A.M. and ended at 4 P.M. with representatives from different colleges participating in the debate competitions.

One of the organisers, MP CEMS Yonnah Musinguzi, said that this debate is the first of its kind since KIU had never in the past, organised any such events. 

"The debate is going to be very interesting, since it's going to be the first of its kind with all the seven colleges competing," Yonnah said. 

The primaries kick started on Tuesday 10th March 2020 and finals, are to be held on Wednesday, 11th March from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Besides the debate competitions, KIU is in preparation of the cultural gala, where students from different tribes and cultures will compete favourably on Saturday, 14th March, 2020.

The Annual Inter-Cultural Competition which entails many activities ranging from singing folk songs, food display, and singing Kampala International University (KIU) anthem among others, commenced with intense training within the different students’ associations. 

Apart from the cultural gala and debate competitions, KIU also holds an annual sports gala, all this to promote talent of the youth, and help them socialize and discover themselves.
