Engineering Students Vote for Leaders

KIU, Western Campus – School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) students are voting for their new leaders to serve for the term 2022 – 2023 today March 25.

The most intriguing contest will be for the presidency, where Hatim Eemam and Alexander Busuullia (shaking hands in picture) will tussle it out in a very close race, with each of them saying they are confident of victory.

Abdi Said Maryan is unopposed for the post of Vice-President and he will surely be in line to succeed Yusuf Ataho, who has been in this position for the past two years.

Aisha Nalubwama faces off with Sharon Acola for the position of Woman Member of Parliament for the entire School, whereas Abdullahi Abdishakur for Civil Engineering, David Lukudu Lemi for Mechanical Engineering, Morish Wizeyi for Electrical Engineering, Immaculate Nambuya for Telecommunication Engineering and Davis Musika for Computer Engineering are the respective Class Representatives.

For the post of Field Coordinator, Isaac Twinamatsiko and Solomon Olwa will wait for tomorrow’s events to find out who takes the slot, and Mohamed Abdi Mohamed and Emmanuel Omoding are vying for Research and Innovation coordinator.

Elections kick off at 9:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. Results will be announced at 6:00 pm.
