KIU, Main Campus – The former Guild President for KIU Main Campus, Moses Ariho has been appointed Resident City Commissioner for Mbarara City's South Division.

On Wednesday 23rd March 2022, President Museveni made his first reshuffle of all Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCC's) since he began his new term. This came with the introduction of new names among whom was KIU's treasured son, Moses Ariho.

In a telephone interview with this website, Ariho expressed gratitude towards the president of the for recognizing his potential.

"I am extremely grateful for this milestone and I want to thank the appointing authority for seeing value in me, for recognizing my potential, for seeing vision in me but most importantly for trusting me," he remarked.

The 2019/2020 Guild president also said that his appointment wasn't a surprise given his trademark as a distinguished youth leader.

"Well I didn't expect the president to appoint me, a son of a peasant but this wasn't a surprise as such. It shows that the president and the people around him have been watching me and I think my integrity, my sense of nationalism and patriotism must have convinced the president to entrust me as a representative," Ariho said.

"Honestly, I am a great cadre of the NRM party both in institutions and in the community and I have really served with integrity, passion, transparency and dedication. The president has seen value in me especially representing him in Mbarara City South Division," he added.

Ariho has promised to do his very best and to avoid anything that would disappoint the appointing authority's trust.

"I will be a great representative of the president in Mbarara South Division. I promise to serve my people as the president wishes," he said.
