Jinja Local Government to Support KIU Medical Students' Project

Jinja district local government pledges to support KIU's medical student project that aims at Promoting good health for all people through the provision of medical care.

According to Jemba Micheal Senkolle, a final year medical student at KIU and the project team leader they have been promised to be supported by the district leaders.

"Yesterday I had a chance to meet Mrs Diana Alison Munage the Jinja District Community Development Officer Buwenge Town Council reached out to me following my call out to everyone passionate about community reach outs. ." He said

He adds that Mrs Alison has been committed to serving the community in deep areas of the Jinja district for several years now and shared with me how she’s even more passionate to keep moving.

She was also concerned about the increased teenage pregnancies, child neglect, HIV prevalence and malnutrition in the area, especially in Busende Subcounty.

This project is focused on UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 "Good Health and Well-being" which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages and it has already started with the groundwork.
