KIU, Western Campus – Kandake Basasire will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education on Saturday June 17 at KIU’s 27th gradaution ceremony at KIU Main Campus in Kansanga. We sat down with the former Member of Parliament for Faculty of Education to seek her views on what this milestone means for her.
Q. How do you feel to be among the graduands at KIU's 27th graduation ceremony?
A. I feel extremely happy and blessed to find am among. Some started with me but they are not graduating on the 27th graduation!
Q. What do you think helped you reach this milestone?
A. Patience and hard work really helped me to reach this milestone.
Q. What challenges did you go through during your education at KIU?
A. It is never easy to get through university education. You have to make a lot of sacrifices like sleepless nights and the like.
Q. How do you intend to apply the knowledge you have got from KIU?
A. KIU has given me wide knowledge, not just in class work but the political knowledge I got from KIU will help me have a positive impact on every society I will live in.
Q. How can you rate the quality of education you received while pursuing your degree?
A. As the leading private international University, it gave me the best quality education while pursuing this degree.
Q. What would you tell someone intending to pursue their education from KIU?
A. I would tell them they made the best choice.
Q. Who are the people that helped you sail through your education?
A. My lecturers since 1.1. up to 3.2 plus my dear friends who I had discussions with (the Royals)
Q. Do you intend to pursue further studies?
A. Yes, it can't just stop at one degree. I intend to do a Masters within the shortest time possible.
Q. What advice can you give to your fellow graduands?
A. They should not underlook any job that can generate them some money! Even when the exact jobs in line with their courses try to delay, they should try some projects. (Pride can't pay bills.)
