KIU, Western Campus – Gideon Mununuzi, who will graduate at KIU’s 29th Graduation ceremony on July 13th, 2024, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy, believes that choosing the right university is a significant decision that can shape your future.

He says that nowadays, it is easier to get information about what a university has to offer and the prospects of getting a good education there, which helped him choose KIU – something he has never regretted.

“Back in the day, people struggled so much to choose the right university since they lacked clear guidance on how best to find a good one,” he says.

“I personally don’t regret choosing KIU because I researched thoroughly about it and realized that my course was accredited, the university had a good reputation, and a good campus culture and community, all which are things I knew would help me grow and thrive,” he adds.

Mununuzi reveals that he joined KIU in April 2019 after meeting Dr. Ronald Kayima, a lecturer at the university, who greatly convinced him to enroll and after doing research about it, he realized it was the best option available.

He realized that the university had a strong reputation for training excellent pharmacists, had cutting-edge resources and facilities, a diverse and inclusive international community and a commitment to explore the heights.

He adds that his university experience has been a transformative journey that has left an indelible mark on his life, especially the experience in the university teaching hospital where he interacted with patients, took care of them and gave them hope, something he says was truly humbling.

Mununuzi vows to be a committed pharmacist who will utilize his knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on patients' lives and the healthcare system and reveals that he has plans to upgrade.

“I plan to further my expertise in pharmaceutical analysis by pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy, specializing in patient care and medication therapy outcomes,” he reveals.

He congratulates his fellow graduands and advises them to embrace this momentous occasion with pride and joy, hold onto the friendships and connections they made at university, continue to learn and grow and be open to new opportunities and experiences.
