KIU Complies With Presidential Directive on COVID-19

KIU, Main Campus - The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, has issued a statement endorsing the suspension of different university activities at both the Main Campus and the Western Campus in response to the President H. E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's guidelines and preventive measures for the Corona Virus Pandemic.

The Vice-Chancellor said that urgent meetings would take place at both KIU campuses in Uganda to provide guidance on how the suspension will be appropriately handled.

"Once consultations are finalized, my office will provide further guidance on how each school, faculty and college at both campuses will be affected," Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo said.

He added that the university is working out the best means to attain continuity including the delivery of content, and Continuous Assessment Tests among other university activities without breaching the presidential guidelines.

KIU has joined a number of many other institutions in Uganda who are closing business for a temporary period of 32 days, effective Friday, 20th March 2020, as directed by President Museveni as a preventive measure against COVID-19 Pandemic that is currently ravaging the whole world.
