KIU, Main Campus - KIU Debate Union displayed what has been termed as a high level of intellectual ability, to emerge champions of the Youth Debate contest that took place at the Ministry of Water and Environment headquarters in Bugoloobi Kampala, on Friday 26th March 2021. The debate organised by Youth Go-Green ran  under the theme ‘’Water and Environment resources; Backbone for Youth Employment and Wealth Creation.’’

Apart from emerging the best team, the KIU Debate Union also had the best speaker of the day. Mahad Baryamujura ran away with a monetary prize of UGX 500000. He said he was greatly honoured to have also become one of the very few people who have held KIU’s flag high.

‘’Honestly, I am speechless. I feel greatly honoured that I will also go down in the books to join those few that have done wonders to keep the flag of our university high,’’ Mahad said immediately after receiving his prize on Friday.

He also appreciated his team mates for exhibiting a high level of coordination, teamwork and dexterity. He commended them for giving him confidence to do his best.

‘’I must admit, my teammates gave me all the confidence to do my best, they gave that thing it takes to be in a winning team,’’ he added.
