KIU, MAIN CAMPUS - Kampala International University (KIU) has concludes a comprehensive four-day staff training program aimed at equipping lecturers with advanced e-learning methodologies and digital tools. The training, which took place from Monday, 10th February 2025, to Thursday, 13th February 2025, was organized by the Directorate of E-Learning.

The program's primary objective was to enhance the online teaching capabilities of KIU's lecturers, ensuring they can effectively engage students in virtual learning environments. Dr. Victor Fakuade Olubusayo, Head of the Department of Distance Learning, emphasized the importance of this training in creating dynamic and engaging learning experiences.

"The training has equipped our lecturers with advanced skills in e-learning, including best practices for online teaching, engaging learners, monitoring student participation, and utilizing virtual tools like BigBlueButton," Dr. Olubusayo explained.

Peter Oluwadamilare Jegede, a digital specialist and one of the trainers, praised the program's impact, noting that participants were enthusiastic and receptive to learning new skills.

"The training was impactful, and we are confident it will further improve blended teaching and learning at KIU. Our lecturers learned valuable presentation skills, including how to record slides, create engaging PowerPoint presentations, and manage visuals using existing templates," Jegede said.

The training program is part of KIU's ongoing efforts to enhance staff capacity and promote excellence in teaching and learning. By investing in staff development, KIU aims to maintain its position as a leading institution of higher learning in the region.
