KIU, Main Campus – Michael Manyange Nyasimi, a PhD candidate awaiting graduation on April 24, 2021, has commended KIU for equipping him with the necessary skills to solve different problems especially in the field of Finance and Accounting.

He says that KIU has enhanced his knowledge and experience which he can transfer to students and enable them to solve different problems especially in the area of accounting. He adds that his PhD journey empowered him to write and contribute towards the existing body of knowledge.

‘’During my Ph.D. Journey, I was trained and I acquired fundamental knowledge of educational developments to write and publish in a peer-reviewed journal. Thus, I have contributed knowledge to the community and the world at large,’’ Manyange says.

“In future, I would wish to collaborate with other like-minded people to move research to another level and to obtain practical ability to win and manage grants which will build a strong foundation for our clients at Kampala International University and beyond,’’ he adds.

Manyange is an accomplished scholar with a proven track record in formulating and managing academic programs as demonstrated by his publications in peer review journals, supervising and mentoring undergraduate and Master’s students.

He is the Acting Dean Faculty of Business and Management at Kampala International University, Western Campus - a position he has occupied since 2016. Manyange has acquired 7 years of uninterrupted hands-on administrative experience at the Faculty level in the university. He has been a member of Kampala International University Senate and University academic management Board member since 2013 to date.

In 2013, Manyange was appointed as the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management. In 2016, he was appointed Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management thus doubling up as both Associate Dean and Acting Dean, the positions he is serving currently. In order to hone his strategic leadership skills, Manyange registered for a Ph.D. in Management Science, majoring in Accounting and Finance, and has completed all the requirements awaiting graduation in April.

Manyange did a Bachelor’s of Commerce at Madurai Kamaraj University in India from 2003 to 2006 before doing a Master’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Finance at the same university from 2006 to 2008.

He followed his Master's with a post-graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from the Group of Advanced Technology Institution. He completed his Ph.D. early this year at KIU.

The sky is surely the limit for this Finance and Accounting guru.

Congratulations Michael!
