KIU, Main Campus - KIU Soccer Coach, Geoffrey Akabwayi, has confirmed a squad of 18 players for the University league tie against IUIU away in Mbale. The squad includes star man Uche Muftau Yinusu who is said to have picked a minor knock when KIU drew with UCU late last month.
According to Team Manager, Joshua Kasaija, all players available for selection are very fit and strong enough to secure victory in a match that must be won when they travel to Mbale.
câ¬Ë?câ¬â?cThe whole team is strong and fit and by the way we have no injuries to worry about,câ¬â?ccâ¬â?c Joshua said, câ¬Ë?câ¬â?cWe have enough authority to come back with victory from Mbale on Thursday,câ¬â?ccâ¬â?c he added.
The team includes goal keepers Opio Moses and Usama Arafat, Defender Ayebare Fredrick, Captain Muwanguzi Jackson, Samadu Abdul, Ochen Bruno, Gwaita Adam, Basangwa Philip, Akuma Jamal, Sonko Fredrick, Walusimbi Solomon, Kato Joshua, Wampamba Joel, Wandera Ronald, Asiimwe Brighton, and star man Muftau Yinusu.
KIU goes into the match having scored three goals in their last two matches coinciding twice and gathering four points which put them in the second place in group B, a point above their opponents IUIU who have won once scoring twice and coinciding another two goals.
IUIU's only victors came against Kumi whom they defeated 2 - 0 away, and the Mbale-based side could progress to knockouts if they beat KIU on Thursday afternoon.
On the other hand, UCU must avoid defeat away to pointless Kumi to keep their knockout stage dreams alive, lest they pray for result not worse than a draw in the IUIU vs KIU game.
