KIU Guild MP Elections declared free and fair

KIU, Main Campus - The Guild Union Electoral Commission has declared Mondaycâ¬â?cs elections for college and school representatives free and fair despite uncertainties brought about by COVID-19 pandemic.

The overall consensus by voters, polling assistants and the electoral commission is that the turn-up of voters was slightly above the expected number and that the overall process was peaceful, free and fair despite the Electoral commission public relations officer, Wakiku Charles confirmed that they registered very few minor complaints.

câ¬Ë?câ¬â?cYesterdaycâ¬â?cs event was generally peaceful and really we had no major case reported though there were few minor cases which we solved straight away,câ¬â?ccâ¬â?c said Wakiku. 

Wakiku added that successful candidates from all colleges and schools were to be declared by 1pm on Tuesday afternoon and those interested in running for guild presidency were required to start picking nomination forms straight away.
