KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU) has maintained its position as the leading private University in Uganda according to the latest 2021 rankings by webometric. KIU has steadily moved from the 4^th position to be ranked 3^rd in the country (being the first private university on the list) where Makerere University came top among other public universities.

Webometrics is a ranking system for the world's universities based on the volume of the Web content, the visibility, and the impact of their web publications.

KIUcâ¬â?cs position follows the universitycâ¬â?cs recent improvement on online content and e-learning facilities which are now by far the best in Uganda. With COVID-19 pandemic still limiting physical engagements, the university has put much efforts in e-learning and this is likely to drive her to the top in the next ranking.

The same rankings have put KIU in the 110^th position on the African Continent.
