KIU, Main Campus - The office of the Guild Union Electoral Commission has released the long-awaited Guild elections Road-Map for the 2023 /2024 polls. The Guild president will be elected on 19th April 2023 according to the road map.
The roadmap released on 28th March 2023 indicates that this year’s guild election process starts with the picking of nomination forms by interested candidates from 29th/03/2023 up to 01/04/2023.
Returning of the nomination forms to the commission will be from 3rd April up to 5th April 2023 between 9 am and 5 pm EAT.
From 6th April up to 11th April 2023, there will be campaigns by various contestants for the Guild members of parliament upon their successful nomination and open-air campaigns on 11th April.
Voting of MPs and declaration of winners will take place on 12th April from 9 am to 5 pm.
And from 13th April to 14th April the Electoral Commission will allow the picking of nomination forms for Guild and Vice president aspirants.
The Presidential debate will be held at 2 pm on 17th April 2023. Voting of the Guild and Vice President will be on 19th April from 9 am to 4 pm.
There will be by-elections to replace the college representatives who will have become president and vice president. This will be on 20th April from 9 am to 4 pm.
The process shall be concluded on 24th April 2023 with the swearing-in ceremony of successful candidates, as well as the issuance of certificates to the outgoing MPs and EC from 11 am to 4 pm.
