KIU Main Campus-KIU Students will elect a new Guild president on April 19th, according to the road map released by the Guild Union's Electoral Commission last week.
The release of the road by the Electoral Commission chairperson, Francis Mugisha marks the beginning of a new era in students' leadership.
Voting for College representatives has been scheduled for Friday 12th, April 2024, a week before the successful Candidates vote for the Guild President.
Students interested in running for college representatives/ members of Parliament have since Wednesday been allowed to pick nomination forms.
The deadline for picking nomination forms is at 5 pm on Monday 8th April 2024 a day which shall mark the beginning of campaigns.
Open air campaigns have been scheduled for Thursday 11th April 2024, starting at 9:00 AM local time.
Successful College representatives who would wish to run for Guild President will be allowed to pick nomination forms between Saturday 13th April and Monday 15th April 2024.
The candidates running for president will face off in a debate on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th April, three days before they are judged by the ballot.
There will be by-elections to replace the college representatives running for president and vice president on Monday 22 April from 9 am to 4 pm.
The newly elected Guild Union team will be sworn in office on Wednesday 24th April 2024, officially marking the end of the reign of the 2023/2024 team led by Godfrey Agaba.
