KIU Train Academic Staff Members on E-Learning Usage

KIU, Main Campus - On September 1st, 2023, the School of Digital, Distance, and E-Learning conducted a refresher training for academic staff on the use of the University’s Learning Management System (LMS). The training provided comprehensive insights into teaching and learning best practices, quality standards, and effective methodologies through a convenient online learning platform.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Olubusayo V. Fakuade and had 25 staff members in attendance. Dr. Fakuade noted that the skills acquired during this training will serve as a strong foundation for participants as they embark on their various expertise.

“The content covered the creation of learning activities and assessment, uploading of learning resources, and continuous improvement of teaching and learning standards”, he said.

Also in attendance was Dr. Hashim Bisallah, the Director of Research, Innovations, Consultancy, and Extensions (DRICE), Mr. Muhwezi Ivan, the Director of Academic Affairs, and Dr. A. Goparaju, the Deputy Director of Quality Assurance, among others.

The University LMS Platform hosts interactive modules, video lectures, quizzes, and assignments, and has all the necessary features and support for the staff members to deliver quality and student-centered learning online.

At the end of the training, participants demonstrated significant improvements in their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of each concept.
