What is Happening Today?

World Password Day. World Password Day was created to address the critical need for strong passwords. Cybercrime is ever on the rise, with criminals targeting people who may not have very strong passwords. For example, it is easy for someone to guess your mobile money PIN code if it is 1234, but if you jumble up the figures, it becomes a little complicated for someone to guess your PIN.

You should add strong authentication to your important passwords to prevent identity theft and other cybercrimes.

National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. It is celebrated every 7th of May to raise awareness about children’s mental health and how vital positive mental health is to a child’s development. It also raises awareness about mental disorders in children, their symptoms and how to seek for treatment. It also concentrates on teaching mental health patients’ families on living well with serious mental illness.

Radio Day (Russia). It is Radio day in Russia, a commemoration of the development of the radio on the day when Alexander Stepanovich Popov successfully demonstrated his invention before the Russian Physical and Chemical Society in 1895.

Though revered as the inventor of the Radio in Eastern Europe and Asia, the western world regards Guglielmo Marconi the first person to develop a viable system based on radio waves.
