KIU Main Campus- KIU Kitara Students Association president, John Kisembo was on Monday, 26th June 2023, declared President-elect for Kitara Students Association (KISA) for the year 2023-2024 after beating Caleb Alinaitwe with a difference of only seven votes in a virtual poll held on Friday 23rd June 2023.
Kitara Students Association (KISA) is an association that unites all University Students who come from Bunyoro region. The excited Kisembo promised to unite all leaders in Bunyoro region immediately after he learned of his hard-fought victory.
"I am very excited for the love and support that people have shown me to my victory," he added.
Kisembo will replace Pascal Natamba at the helm of KISA. He paid tribute to him.
"He tried to unite KISA chapters but more effort is still needed and l am very ready to improve accordingly," he said.
He pledged to start by organizing workshops that can attract the attendance of all leaders in Bunyoro.
"I will definitely organize workshops that will bring together all leaders from Bunyoro region to educate parents and their children to enhance the development which will help them to get tuition/ fees for their children," he said.
"We also plan to do so many other things for example, there will be an integration of all KISA chapters in the country, then we also plan to have a Royal visit, Culture reservation, registration of all KISA chapters in the country as well as starting projects that benefit all KISA chapters in the country," he added.
The KISA presidential Polls that have now seen Kisembo elected president are the second in a row that the association has held virtually since first embracing the idea during the COVID-19 pandemic period in which KIU Alumni, Pascal Natamba emerged the winner.
John Kisembo is also a minister of Culture, religion, and entertainment in the Students Guild Union of Kampala International University.
