KIU, Western Campus – The Mr. and Miss KIU Western Campus contest is back after a 3-year hiatus necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

The contest which celebrates the beauty and brains of students at Western Campus will be held on Friday, September 2 at Swing Inn Motel in Ishaka Town.

Organizer Julius Magimbi, the CEO of Jupiter Events says this will be an event like no other before.

“People should expect a big difference from all the previous Mr. and Miss KIU contests due to a change in the organization,” Magimbi told this website.

“Before it was Swing Inn it’s self organizing but the shift in organization to Jupiter Events is a big step forward because of the quality in organization we bring to this year’s contest,” he added.

He said that students and people all over Ishaka Town are excited about the event because it has been 3 years since it appeared on the local entertainment calendar.

“Mr. and Miss KIU has historically been one of the most anticipated events on the Ishaka entertainment calendar and now that it is back after all this time, people are very excited about it,” he noted.

The event, which is being held under the theme “Beauty With Brains” will have on offer among others a live band, dancers, comedians, red carpet experience and a free photo shoot.

Among some of the changes is giving the fans more authority in the voting process.

Unlike the previous years when the judges had a complete say on who the winner will be, fans will this time around be given the chance to vote online and the outcome of this voting will influence the result by 40%.

Hip-Hop star Feffe Bussi is slated to perform and tickets go for 10,000 shillings ordinary level, 20,000 shillings VIP and to get a table, you will have to part with 200,000 shillings.
