Students of technology under the umbrella body, Kampala International University Technology Students Association {KIUTESA}, are laying strategies that will make KIU a digital hub in Africa.

The first digital training workshop has been slated for this Saturday,  22nd February 2020, and shall be hosted by Desany Digital and Centum learning who will train students on different digital areas including building an online presence, introduction to mobile computing, creating digital job opportunities, and online advertising.

It will be hosted in the Computer science labs 6 and 5 and will commence at 10 am in the morning.

According to the Assistant Program Coordinator KIUTESA, Emmanuel Robert Musoke, the digital workshops and training intend to equip students with a variety of digital skills that will enable them to establish businesses, build online connections and networks, and also create employment opportunities.

‘’We believe that if young people have the right skills, they can build businesses, create jobs, and boost economic growth across the continent. These workshops can help us turn KIU into a digital hub,’’ says Musoke.
