KIU, Main Campus - Martha Kahunde, Andrew Onen, and Faiza Salimah, all Journalism students from Kampala International University are among the 26 media students from different universities across Uganda who completed a six-month multimedia training with Media Challenge Initiative on Friday 13th March 15, 2021.

Several classmates, friends, and relatives have since taken to social media to congratulate the fellows for achieving the wonderful milestone in journalism. KIU is particularly proud of the three fellows who have had to endure through the tough COVID 19 crisis to add yet another great accomplishment on their CVs.

The graduation event hosted at the new MCI Media Hub in Kabalagala was presided over by Uganda’s Minister of Information, Technology, and National Guidance, Hon. Judith Nabakooba. She promised that her ministry would find ways of supporting the young innovators.

"And I promise as the minister of ICT and National Guidance, we shall also find ways of supporting these young innovators," Judith Nabakooba said.

The Media Challenge Fellowship program is an aggressive multimedia journalism training program awarded to the best 25 students from the Inter-University Media Challenge, a practical reporting competition in 12 universities in Uganda.
