TUKEI MARTIN is the Senior Human Resource Officer at Kampala International University (KIU). He is also a Lecturer at the university’s Post Graduate School. Prior to that, Martin worked as the Human Resource Manager at The East African Management Institute where he gained a three years’ experience in providing technical and logical support, leadership on policy matters, strategic development and advocacy, and specialised in overseeing the implementation of organizations policy. He also served as a part-time lecturer at the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mbale Campus, and also at Bugema University, where he taught and supervised students.
Martin holds a Master of Procurement & supply Chain Management, a Post Graduate, Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management, a Master of Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Makerere University in 2014, 2010, 2008, and 2006 respectively.
As the Senior Human Resource Officer at KIU, Martin specialises in carrying out human resource planning, ensuring that job descriptions for both academic and non-academic staff are professionally carried to fit the actual job, and carrying out salary survey and developing guidelines to harmonize the university salary structures in a satisfactory and motivating way. As a Lecturer, he teaches and supervises post graduate students, continually develops the curriculum, carries out research, and publishes articles and books in his area of specialisation.
Martin has published and co-published a number of articles in journals including the European Centre of Research Training and Development International Journal Of Business And Innovation Research, the International Journal of Disciplinary Research Methods, and the Kano Journal of Education Studies to mention but a few.
He is involved in a number of community engagements as the Chairperson and Director at Light Christian Vocational Secondary School in Kumi, the Chairperson of the Mwalimu Development Foundation, and a Board Member at the Dr. Aporu Okol Memorial Secondary School.
