DR. GRACE AKINYI ODONGO is the Deputy Director Quality Assurance at the Kampala International University – Western Campus (KIU-WC). Prior to that, she was a Doctoral Research Scientist at the University Medical Center Freiburg, Germany in the Institute of Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology. She has also worked as a Technologist at the Nyali Children´s Hospital in Kenya, and volunteered at the Pandya Memorial Hospital in Kenya.
Grace holds a Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Hamburg, Germany in collaboration with University Medical Center Freiburg, Germany. She also holds a Master Degree in Molecular Medicine, and a Bachelor Degree in Medical Microbiology, from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya.
She published and co-published a number of articles in reputable journals like the Journal of Natural Science Research, and has won a couple of awards including the 2015 Prize for the second best Elevator pitch out of 40 presentations at the 2nd Hortinlea Annual meeting at Berlin-Germany, a Hortinlea Ph. D. degree Scholarship Award to study in Germany from July 2014 to December 2018, a Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Postgraduate Scholarship Award for Master degree in Kenya from May 2013 to 2014, and a Prize for Academic Excellence (Academic award) from Vice Chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya in 2012.
Grace possesses a number of skills including Professional teaching skills, Scientific presentation skills, Trainer Impulse Presentation, Good Laboratory Practice, Biosafety Measures, Firefighting skills, and Leadership skills to mention but a few.
