Ms. Susan Nabukeera is a staff at Kampala International University, working as a Teaching Assistant in the department of medical laboratory science under school of Allied Health Sciences. She is also a Head of Histopathology Unit in the department of Pathology and Diagnostics at KIU-TH. She conducts and supervises practicals in the hospital laboratory for clinical students, as well as diagnosing, treating and managing patients because of her commendable skills in operating most histopathology machines like microtomes, tissue processors and embedding centers among others.
With her experience as a Teaching Assistant at Kampala International University in Tanzania from 2016 to 2018 and Kampala International University-western campus in Ishaka-Bushenyi, she is passionate about teaching both local and international students in the fields of histopathology hematology, Parasitology, clinical chemistry and microbiology and also supervising their research. She has also mentored several NACTE students in Tanzania where she was awarded a certificate of recognition for outstanding performance.
She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 2015 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science. She is registered with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council in Uganda as a medical laboratory scientific officer and her research areas of interest include histopathology, hematology especially dealing with diagnosis, treatment and management of cancer patients, among others.
She is self-confident, hardworking, good at oral and written communication, team player who engages herself in constructive conversations with colleagues and students. She loves music, football, travelling and helping the needy.
