Mr. Sewaya Muhamud is an advocate of Courts of Judicature working with M/S Bakkidde & Hannan Co Advocates, Kampala.
He is also working as a lecturer and pioneer staff at School of Law, Kampala International University where he has taught since 2002.
He served as the Associate Dean of Law, School of Law, Kampala International University for period 2006 câ?¬â?? 2012 and as an Acting Dean for a period of one year. He has taught various course units both at the Undergraduate and at Master of Laws and worked as internal and external examiner of law exams for some universities.
Sewaya was nominated and awarded by the KIU as the best lecture of Commercial law for the year2018.
He has been actively involved legal consultancy in commercial law and Muslim personal law, a novel area to legal practitioners in Uganda.
He holds a Master of Laws from Melbourne University, Australia which he got in 1996, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Law from the National University of Singapore, Singapore in 1993, a Bachelors of Laws (LLB-Hons) from International Islamic University, in 1991.
He also attained a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala in 2006 and a Diploma in Education from Makerere University in 1987.
He has presented and published papers on the range of legal subjects and he is a regular guest speaker on Muslim personal law at School of Laws at Makerere University.
He is also a part time lecture at Faculty of Law at Islamic University in Uganda. He is the Chairperson, Technical Committee on Muslim Personal Law at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
