Mbeli is a Senior Lecturer and Dean, School of Law, Kampala International University. He holds a PhD in Law from Benue State University in Nigeria. He specializes in commercial law with bias to corporate governance. He has written several articles on the intersection between law and the corporate business environment. He has taught a number of commercial law modules including insurance law, company law, law of agency, sale of goods and hire purchase. He currently teaches corporate governance law and methods of legal research. He is also involved in the supervision of students’ dissertations at postgraduate level. He has played a key role in formulating or revising existing policies at KIU including chairing the Senate Committee on review of the University Academic Rules and Regulations. He has served as commercial law expert for the review of the Ugandan Fisheries Bill 2018 with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
