DR. ALOYSIUS TUMUKUNDE is a Lecturer at the Kampala International University (KIU) whose area of specialization lies in Management sciences (Public Management). Prior to that, he was a Lecturer at the Muteesa1Royal University (2010-2016), and at Stafford University (2015-2017).
Tumukunde holds a PhD in Management Science (Public Management), a Master of Arts in Development Administration and Management, and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration which he obtained at the Kampala International University (KIU) in 2012, 2006, and 2004 respectively. He also holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and Social Sciences (SWSA) which he obtained at the Uganda Christian University (UCU).
His research interests include Public provision of social services to the needy people, Local Governance and Service Delivery, Human Behavior and Organizational Performance to mention but a few. Tumukunde has carried out research on the Challenges of Resettling Street Children in Kampala City (2004), the Management Challenges Faced by NGOs in Provision Of Social Services to the HIV/AIDS Infected Persons in Nsambya Hospital Home Care (2006), and Alcohol consumption in women and Family stability in Kitumba Sub-County, Kabale District of Western Uganda (2015) to mention but a few. He is currently writing books titled the câ?¬Ë?Fundamentals of Social Work Practice: Social Work Principles, Skills, Knowledge and Valuescâ?¬â?c and câ?¬Ë?Non-Governmental Organizations: The Hope for Developmentcâ?¬â?c. Tumukunde has published papers on the câ?¬Ë?Codes of Conduct and Administrative Accountability in Selected Local Governments in Western Ugandacâ?¬â?c, câ?¬Ë?Empowerment Approach and Decision Making of Famers in NAADS Program in Ntungamo and Kabale Districts of Western Ugandacâ?¬â?c, and the câ?¬Ë?Role of Parliamentarians in Implementing the National Strategy for Education and Sustainable Development in Uganda.câ?¬â?c He has also presented academic papers including the câ?¬Ë?Fear and Childrencâ?¬â?cs Behaviorcâ?¬â?c presented at Uganda Christian University-Bishop Barham College, and another paper on câ?¬Ë?Conflicts in Organizationscâ?¬â?c which he presented at Kampala International University.
Over the years, Tumukunde has developed and acquired social work skills used to tackle on social problems experienced by the street children from Friends Of Children Association (FOCA), Family And Children Court (FCC), the Naguru Remand Home, and the Nsambya Babies Home as well.
During his free time, he loves watching football, playing chess, travelling, making friends, reading, writing, and most of all, assisting the less privileged.
