Phelix Busingye Mbabazi, PhD is not only a Senior Lecturer of Information Systems at the School of Mathematics and computing but also the Associate Dean Research at Kampala International University. He has had such a prestigious career especially in Academia. Also, he has held positions at the university like Examinations/Results Officer and Coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes, both at the School of Computer Studies; the Postgraduate Head of Department- Applied Science and Technology in the College of Higher Degrees and Research, as well as the Graduate Programme Coordinator c??? School of Computing and Information Technology.
He has a PhD in Management Information Systems, a Master of Science in Information Systems and a Bachelor in Computer Engineering, all of which he attained from Kampala International University. His areas of specialization are E-learning, Information Systems, Information Security, Database Systems, Networking, ICT for development, Internet of Things and Data Science.
In addition, he has made numerous conference presentations, participated and collaborated in numerous research projects like the ChangeMaker, the Youth Representation/Inclusion, Project Pakati funded by the Ford Foundation and he has published in various International and local journals such as the Global Journal of Engineering Science and Researches, International Journal of Scientific Engineering and Science, and the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Development to mention but a few. He is also an accomplished author as he has published a book titled Computer Fundamentals Made Easy.
Phelix has also supervised over 5 Masterc??cs students and has been consulted on numerous projects like the Inter-University Council for East Africa to serve as a Peer for External Evaluation of Computer Science Programmes in Universities in Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, where he was a Programme Evaluator. His research interests include Mobile Device usage, Information Systems, Information Security Database Systems, Networking, ICT for development, Internet of Things, Data Science and Networking.
With his solid experience and expertise in Academia, especially in the field of Information Technology, he is in an appropriate position to guide and shape the minds of the future as well as creating sustainable solutions for a better, Uganda, Africa and the world at large here at KIU where we continue to explore the heights!
