KIU, Main Campus - On Monday, April 15th 2024, KIU through the Department of Clinical Legal Education (CLE), School of Law, participated in the National Court Open Day held at Kololo.

The National Court Open Day organized by the Judiciary of Uganda offered a platform for various judiciary arms to showcase their services towards the public to address concerns related to the judicial system.

The Department of CLE led by Dr. Olawunmi Obisesan meticulously analysed various issues presented during the event as it served as a platform for dialogue, fostering trust and confidence in the judicial system.

In a statement by Patrick Kintu, the Press Secretary of CLE, the Department used this platform to gain insights and engage with various stakeholders in the Judiciary Sector.

"Through engaging with justice units, court heads, managers, and NGOs to gain insights into current challenges and foster partnerships. The active participation enabled attendants to acquire more insight from the firms through acquiring literature that summarises the firm details and also law matters", he noted.

"The Department monitored public responses and feedback as some of the students were given the platform to table their grievances, both positive and critical to gauge public perception and expectations", he concluded.

The National Court Open Day at Kololo is a testament to the Judiciary of Uganda's commitment to transparency, accountability, and public engagement. Led by dedicated leaders and supported by educational institutions like Kampala International University.  The event served as a platform for dialogue, fostering trust and confidence in the judicial system.
