KIU, Main Campus – Earlier today, the Minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng flagged off teams expected to conduct a rapid assessment survey of the prevalence of COVID-19 pandemic in Ugandan communities.

The survey will target special communities of interest including market vendors, truck drivers, border points, health workers, security and religious leaders among others.

During this survey, the assessment teams will take samples from the nose, throat swab from individuals to test for COVID-19.

“We appeal to the communities to cooperate with the teams and provide information. It's for our good,” said Aceng.

The ministry says that the survey results will be provided on 4th May 2020, with subsequent decisions to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
