President Museveni Appreciates Effort of Doctors and Health Workers in the Fight Against Coronavirus

KIU, Main Campus – H.E President Yoweri Museveni, on Tuesday, 14th March, 2020, addressed the nation on the current state of COVID-19 in Uganda. As many anticipated the end of the 30-day lockdown as of Tuesday, the President announced a 21-day extension of the lockdown and curfew till 5th May 2020.

All measures previously in place remain, including the ban on movement by road, air, etc except cargo.

As the number of Coronavirus cases in Uganda still stands at 54 as of Tuesday, 14th March 2020, so far, 4 patients have reportedly recovered and been discharged from Entebbe Grade B Hospital.

The President appreciated the efforts of doctors and health workers to fight against the pandemic, whilst working both meticulously and carefully, and avoiding infection in the process.

“To our doctors and health workers, once again, I salute you for the professionalism. You have been able to heal these initial corona-virus cases and stay free of the virus at the same time. Thank you,” the President tweeted.
