KIU, Main Campus - As of 27th March 2020, four people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uganda, raising the total number up to 18.
On 26th March 2020, another 197 people who recently travelled to the UAE were tested. Among all these, only four tested positive.
This has been confirmed by President Yoweri Museveni on his social media platforms.
"Yesterday, the 26th of March, another 197 people were tested and many of them were returnees from Dubai or other category one countries, only 4 tested positive," tweeted the President.
"These four, had been under institutional quarantine in the various hotels identified by the sub-committee on quarantine. They have been evacuated to Mulago Hospital for treatment," the President added.
As the majority of the 14 people who are hospitalized at Entebbe, Mulago and Masaka with the virus are responding well to the treatment and seem to be improving, there is still hope to beat the pandemic.
